7/1/10- APHA Summit on Health Reform to prepare public health community for implementing new law

The new health reform law will dramatically affect the delivery and financing of health services in our nation, but what does it mean for public health? Join public health practitioners, administrators and clinicians at a groundbreaking daylong Summit on Health Reform designed to prepare and equip public health officials and agencies for implementing the important provisions of the new health law with a particular emphasis on its impact on public health, wellness and prevention. Hear from senior health officials, learn how to plan for implementing the law's provisions in your agency and community, and gain first-hand insight from officials from other states as they share lessons learned in implementing health reform. The summit will be held immediately prior to the APHA Annual Meeting on Saturday, Nov. 6, in Denver. To learn more, visit http://www.apha.org/meetings/highlights/summit.htm

Registration is now open! Register for the Summit on Health Reform only or add the Summit to your Annual Meeting Registration. Either way, you can register online at www.apha.org/meetings/registration.  Early-bird discounted fees for this special full day pre-conference event are available until August 27. Registration is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis so don’t delay.
