Albion College is seeking a full-time Associate Director of the Institute for Premedical Professions and Health Science effective August 2010. The Associate Director assists in leading a well-respected and rigorous academic institute that integrates course work from a multi-disciplinary range of departments, co-curricular activities, and national and international internships into a traditional liberal arts education. The Associate Director will work with the Director in articulating the distinctiveness of the Institute to the external community and the media, developing and overseeing internships, recruiting and advising students, and leading the College in continual renewal and improvement of all components of this marquee program of study. In addition, the Associate Director will teach courses in areas appropriate to his/her academic credentials and experience.
Candidates should possess: an advanced degree (master’s or higher) in related field; 5 years’ experience in related for profit/non-profit/government organization; undergraduate teaching experience preferred; effective communication and mentoring, as well as the ability to work collaboratively to build/lead interdisciplinary teams; an understanding of emerging trends in the health care professions and delivery systems, including globalization and an appreciation for a liberal arts education; and experience working with undergraduate students in higher education.
