The Logan County Department of Public Health is accepting applications for an immediate opening in the environmental division as an environmental sanitarian. Responsibilities include, restaurant, septic and well inspections. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Environmental Science or a Bachelor’s degree which included a minimum of 30 semester hours of basic science. Applicant must be eligible for licensure as a Licensed Environmental Health Practitioner (LEHP) in Illinois within one (1) year from date of employment. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel software is essential. The candidate must also be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Candidates must be dependable, enthusiastic and have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Compensation includes a competitive benefit package and salary commensurate with training and experience.
