Host sites are currently interviewing applicants for the Summer 2010 term:
Champaign-Urbana Public Health Department, Champaign Community Child Care Connection, Part-time slot in Springfield Erie Family Health Center, Chicago Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department, Marion IL Migrant Council, Champaign/ Kankakee Counties Near North Health Service Corp., Chicago Rockford Health Council, Rockford
Applicants for our Full time 2010-2011 Program will begin Spring 2010.
The IPHA AmeriCorps Program provides trained, dedicated people to help meet locally identified needs in local health agencies across the state. Members participate in community service through health promotion and outreach for programs serving youth, women, children and families; volunteer coordination; and assistance with community emergency preparedness. The purpose of the AmeriCorps program is for members to gain valuable public health work experience, while host sites and the communities they serve benefit from the services the AmeriCorps members provide.
Members receive a living allowance, education award, professional development and fringe benefits, including health insurance.
