7/21/10- ALERT! Possible Gastrointestinal Illnesses Following Attendance at NACCHO Meeting in 2010

| The Illinois Department of Public Health, Communicable Disease Control Section has received information that some persons may have developed gastrointestinal illnesses following attendance at the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) meeting. This meeting was held at the Cook Convention Center in Memphis, Tennessee from July 14 through July 16, 2010. |
If you attended this meeting and developed diarrhea and/or vomiting in the 24 to 48 hours following the meeting please notify your agency's communicable disease coordinator and have them contact the Illinois Department of Public Health Communicable Disease Control Section to report the illnesses. Please share this notification with others in your agency who may have attended this meeting. Local health department communicable disease control personnel are asked to request and submit stool samples for norovirus testing from ill attendees.
