IPHA Call For Policy Resolutions

12/29/2009
The Illinois Public Health Association’s public health policy is set by resolutions adopted by the members at the Annual Meeting each year. Resolutions are important business of the Association since they represent the official will and opinion of the members. Successful resolutions should concern significant issues of state or national impact. Affiliate members as well as individual members can submit proposed resolutions.

The purpose of a resolution is to delineate a position for the Association on a matter not otherwise covered concerning policies, principles, or precedent of state or national scope or significance.  Resolutions are policy declarations and are not meant to designate specific actions.  The Executive Council determines courses of action necessary to implement the Association’s public health policy.

The IPHA Policy and Legislative Committee and staff will review proposed resolutions, offer advice on the relevance and construction of the submission, and prepare resolutions for consideration by the members.

Proposed resolutions should be submitted to the IPHA office by no later than February 13, 2010.  The members of the Illinois Public Health Association will vote on proposed resolutions during the Annual Meeting -Business meeting on March 9, 2010.  All proposed resolution(s) should be forwarded to:
