“Creative Arts Therapies” including art, music, dance/movement, and drama have their roots in the arts and theories of creativity. These therapies utilize self-expression within the context of psychotherapy, counseling, rehabilitation, or medicine. This experiential workshop will provide an overview of Creative Arts Therapies and how these therapies can be applied in a variety of clinical populations. Additionally, the mechanics of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing will be reviewed to demonstrate how Creative Arts Therapies can be used as bilateral stimulation to facilitate processing past trauma.
- Participants will identify the different modalities of Creative Arts Therapies.
- Participants will learn how Creative Arts interventions can be applied in a variety of clinical populations.
- Participants will learn how Creative Arts Therapies can be used to facilitate the processing of past trauma.
Continuing Education Credits:
2.0 CEU’s are available for LCSW, LCPC, LSW, LPC and QIDP.
Following the event, attendees will receive an email with a link to the online evaluation to complete. Once the evaluation response window closes, CEU certificates will be emailed. This process takes approximately 14 days following the event.
