Workshop Overview: The workplace is one environment where various generations come together. This workshop will help you understand the various generations present at work, what motivates each of them, the strengths they possess, and how each generation fits into a different working style. While having various cultures in one workplace can present communication problems and conflicts, the benefits of such a variety in the workplace outweigh it. Learning how to deal with the generation gap at work will help you become a better manager or co-worker and help you motivate and retain staff. This workshop provides examples for those working within the intellectual and developmental disability (I/DD) field, however the information can be applied to any work environment.
- Identify the different generations.
- Discuss the factors influencing the working style and values of each generation.
- Identify strategies to bridge the generation gap in the work environment and discuss tips to motivate and retain staff.
Registration Fee: $10 (payment must be made online at the time of registration).
Cancellation/Refund Policy: The registration fee is non-refundable. Individuals who paid for but missed the workshop can use their payment as a credit towards a future Rise ‘N’ Learn, Lunch ‘N’ Learn or IDD Provider Networking Group sponsored by the Community Mental Health Board of Oak Park Township, Riveredge Hospital and Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System.
