Community Mental Health Board of Oak Park Township, Riveredge Hospital, and
Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System.


Presenter: Anjanette Young, MSW, LCSW President and CEO of Cafe' Social Work Consulting LLC

Bio: Anjanette Young is a licensed clinical social worker and graduate of the Jane Addams School of Social Work at the University of Illinois–Chicago. She obtained a master’s degree in clinical social work with a special interest in mental health for individuals and families. In March 2019, Anjanette became president and CEO of Café Social Work, where she spends her time tutoring and coaching new social workers. She also consults with organizations for staff training and development.


Workshop Title: Engaging Clients from a Strength-based Perspective: What You Need to Know About Working within Diverse Communities


Workshop Overview: This workshop will encourage clinicians to expand their knowledge around what signifies effective treatment outcomes for diverse clients by identifying strengths they bring from their own lived experience. The presenter will share information about how to identify trauma-related responses, examine coping skills and strategies to deal with vicarious trauma, and understand healing centered engagement. 


Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will have an increased knowledge of how to identify trauma-related responses over mental health crises.
  1. Participants will examine coping skills and strategies to deal with vicarious trauma.
  1. Participant will be introduced to and understand the background of the healing centered engagement approach.


Registration Details

Registration Fee: $10 (payment must be made online at the time of registration).


Cancellation/Refund Policy: The registration fee is non-refundable. Individuals who paid for but missed the workshop can use their payment as a credit towards a future Rise ‘N’ Learn, Lunch ‘N’ Learn or IDD Provider Networking Group sponsored by the Community Mental Health Board of Oak Park Township, Riveredge Hospital and Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System.


Webinar Link: After registering through IPHA and paying the fee for the workshop, you will receive an email from that includes a Zoom Webinar registration link. This Zoom registration assists with tracking attendance for the training. Once the Zoom registration is complete, you will receive an email from Zoom with the link to enter the workshop. Continuing Education Credits
2.0 CEUs are available for LSW, LCSW, LPC, LCPC, QIDP

  • Riveredge Hospital is a Social Work CEU Sponsor with IDFPR under license #159000731. The following Illinois credentials are eligible for CEUs under this license: LSW, LCSW, LPC, and LCPC.
  • Providers with other credentials (i.e., QIDP) are encouraged to provide presentation information to their credential authority to consider credit for attendance.
  • Attendees need to participate in at least 75% of the webinar to receive CEU credit.


Following the event (within 2 BUSINESS days) attendees will receive an email evaluation to complete. Evaluations open within TWO BUSINESS DAYS of the event and remain open for seven (7) days. All attendees MUST complete the online evaluation in order to receive a CEU certificate, no exceptions. Once the evaluation response window closes, CEU certificates will be emailed. This process takes approximately 3 weeks following the event.
