Springfield Man Recognized for Tireless Effort in Child Abuse Prevention
SPRINGFIELD, IL (December 3, 2014)- Prevent Child Abuse Illinois is proud to recognize Springfield man for his tireless effort in child abuse prevention. Ralph Schubert, lifelong advocate for children, has been recognized as this year’s winner of the Friend of Children Award.
The Friend of Children Award was established in 1995, and given to an individual, organization or collaborating group in Illinois with long-term commitment to children and families who have shown substantial effort for the prevention of child abuse and neglect. With his dedication and steadfast resolve that every child and family is important, Schubert is an excellent recipient for this award.
Schubert has over 30 years of experience in health and human services in Illinois. He has been involved in many child and family-based programs, including both the Strong Foundations and Healthy Family Illinois initiatives. He currently works for the Illinois Public Health Association, and has previously held positions at both the Illinois Department of Human Services and Department of Public Health. Schubert held a vital role in the management of the Maternal and Child Health Care grants and Development Unit of the Division of Family Health for IDPH. Additionally, he has worked on several violence prevention projects, women’s health projects and healthy start programs.
This award recognizes the extraordinary contributions to the safety and well-being of children in Illinois. Schubert continues to work for the safety of children in Illinois today. Prevent Child Abuse Illinois is honored to recognize Ralph Schubert for his dedication.
