Message from APHA:
In fiscal year 2019, Congress provided important funding increases for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Health Resources and Services Administration and many other public health agencies and programs. However, public health remains woefully underfunded and is yet again under threat. The president’s FY 2020 budget proposes deep cuts to critical public health programs.
As Congress begins its work on the FY 2020 appropriations process, we need all public health advocates to urge their members of Congress to advocate for increased funding for public health and to reject the president’s proposed cuts. Speak for Health today and tell your representatives and senators to protect and increase funding for public health.
