Illinois Public Health Association Congratulates Dr. Ngozi Ezike on Her Service to Illinois
The Illinois Public Health Association (IPHA) would like to congratulate Dr. Ngozi Ezike on her efforts to guide Illinois through the COVID-19 pandemic and protect the health and wellness of Illinois families. Dr. Ezike announced she is leaving the Illinois Department of Public Health after three years of service. Her compassion and dedication to public health have been appreciated and the Association’s leadership and members unite in wishing her well on her next role.
IPHA looks forward to working with Amaal Tokars, PhD., who will serve as interim director of the Illinois Department of Public Health. Dr. Tokars served on the IPHA Executive Council for a number of years and was active with the Northern Illinois Public Health Consortium during her tenure as the administrator for Kendall County Health Department. She has long been a champion for local public health issues throughout the state and the Association is pleased to work with her on issues affecting the health of our residents.
