The UIC School of Public Health and BRACE-Illinois program are putting on a forum to mark 20 years since the 1995 Chicago heat wave. It was one of the worst public health disasters in the US in which over 700 people died. The Forum will take place on September 16th at UIC from 9am-4pm. We will look back on the events, challenges, and lessons learned from it. We will then look into the future and think about how we can be better prepared for more frequent and severe heat waves in a warming world. Many of the key players during the event will be speaking.
