On May 14th, JPA is pleased to host the premier screening in Chicago of a new documentary on trauma, Broken Places, by award-winning film maker, Roger Weisberg. The film explores the impact of trauma on the lives of children as they grow into adulthood.
Stay for a community discussion with Dr. Nneka Jones Tapia. Dr. JonesTapia and Karen G. Foley, CEO of JPA, will discuss how everyone can get involved in helping children who experience trauma, abuse and neglect so they can heal and go on to lead productive lives. Dr. Jones Tapia is the Inaugural Leader in Resident at Chicago Beyond. Previously, she served as the ED of the Cook County Dept. of Corrections - often described as the nation's largest mental hospital.
