The Illinois Public Health Association announces the availability of six (6) scholarships for the 2019-20 academic year for qualified graduate students in Public Health.

IPHA Scholarship for Graduate Study in Public Health: 

Four scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each

Edith Heide Memorial Scholarship: 

Two scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each

Eligibility:  Must be a citizen of the United States, a resident of Illinois and enrolled in a public-health related graduate degree program at a recognized and accredited university in Illinois.

Guidelines:  Scholarship assistance may be used toward the payment of tuition and fees only.  Recipients of scholarships may apply and be considered for support for a second year.

Award:  The two applicants with the highest scores will receive the Edith Heide scholarship and the third through sixth place applicants will all receive the IPHA Scholarship for Graduate Study in Public Health.  The six scholarship recipients will be invited to attend the awards ceremony at the IPHA Annual Meeting, September 11, 2019, to receive their scholarship certificate. If the scholarship recipient is not a current IPHA member, they will be given a one-year student membership.         

Disbursement:  Upon verification of enrollment, the Illinois Public Health Association will send the scholarship funds directly to the financial aid office of the recipient’s college or university.

Deadline:   Completed applications for scholarship assistance for the 2019-20 academic year must be received no later than 5:00 pm on July 5, 2019.
