Happy National Public Health Week!

We kick the week off with today’s theme: Rebuilding. After a year of unspeakable loss, when we’ve seen the public health system tried like never before and an explosion in efforts to spread misinformation, we’re reinvesting in public health, in our communities and in each other.

We’re not building back to where things were before the pandemic and the protests for racial equity. We know the systems in place unfairly disadvantaged some people and unfairly advantaged others. Instead, we’re working with health equity at the forefront of everything we do to ensure everyone has the opportunity to be healthy. We know you’re ready to dig into this work, too.

Don’t miss any of the amazing APHA-sponsored events scheduled each day of NPHW, as well as the many events hosted around the country. We’ll also be featuring daily videos and posts on Public Health Newswire. There’s something for everyone, so we hope you take advantage of all the virtual offerings!

Please join us at 1 p.m. ET today for the NPHW Forum, “Strengthening Community from the Grassroots.” This kickoff event will highlight how community organizers are putting public health at the forefront, and how everyone can get involved.

We’re looking forward to spending this week Building Bridges to Better Health with you!
