APHA Partners with Communities for Healthier School Climates

At the start of another school year, APHA brings attention to the groups of students at highest-risk of not graduating high school. Rates of non-completion are an estimated 6.2 times higher among students from the lowest income-earning families, and black and Hispanic students continue to graduate at rates far behind their white and more affluent peers.

 

APHA’s Center for School, Health and Education recognizes that classroom instruction has limited effectiveness if students’ basic needs are not met.
