About this event
The Illinois Vital Records System (IVRS) is the Illinois Department of Public Health's system for electronic birth and death certificate origination and registration. IVRS allows for multiple users to simultaneously process birth and death data 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from any computer with an internet connection. Along with faster registration of death certificates, IVRS eliminates the need to track down medical certifiers for signatures, streamlining the death certification process for everyone involved.
Join ISMS and Dan Pippin, IVRS Program Manager, to hear how your participation in IVRS can improve the death certification process.
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:
- Recognize the importance of participation in the Illinois Vital Records System (IVRS)
- Describe how to request an IVRS user ID and how to use that ID to register a site in IVRS
- Discuss a user’s role in IVRS
- Identify common mistakes to avoid when certifying cause-of-death
