Webinar: COVID-19 Vaccine Breakthrough Cases

Dear Colleagues:
These are extraordinary times for public health, and your efforts on the front lines are making an incredible impact. As the response to the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, your roles at local public health are expanding rapidly. In an effort to hear about local issues and provide an opportunity for you to connect with national partners, NACCHO invites local health department leadership and staff to participate in a webinar, COVID-19 Vaccine Breakthrough Cases, on Tuesday, May 4, 3:00-4:00 pm ET.

Nationwide, local health departments are working tirelessly to administer COVID-19 vaccinations in their communities, but postvaccination infections with SARS-CoV-2, or breakthrough cases, are appearing across the country. This webinar will cover vaccine breakthrough cases, including what we know about COVID illness after vaccination and case investigations and reporting. A presenter from the Chicago Department of Health will also discuss the findings highlighted in a recent MMWR: Postvaccination SARS-CoV-2 Infections Among Skilled Nursing Facility Residents and Staff Members — Chicago, Illinois, December 2020–March 2021.

This webinar is open to all members of local health departments as well as other community partners who are interested in this topic. In order to join the call, please REGISTER HERE (only registered participants will be able to join).
Thank you for everything you are doing. We look forward to connecting with you.
